Reba McEntire On Her New Sitcom and Cherished Friendship with Castmate

Reba McEntire gushed about her new sitcom and cherished friendship with castmate Melissa Peterman. It is so sweet to see. Play the video to hear her talk about their long-time friendship.

Reba was shown a clip of her dear friend, Melissa, who starred with her in her “Reba” show and is starring with her in her new show, “Happy’s Place.”

She saw Melissa answering the question, “What does your friendship with Reba mean to you?”

Melissa teared up as she said, “She's like coming home, you know. I think that in this business, that's a lot. We have a lot of Hollywood friends, and you have friends that you share just the good stuff with, and I think I knew that when we started sharing like the real-life stuff that was forever. I know she's got my back; whether we never work together again, she will be on my side always, and she knows I'm hers.”

“I wrote that for her,” Reba joked.

She explained that she and Melissa get along like peas in a pod. They get into mischief together and have been close ever since the Reba show days.

“It’s a wonderful thing,” Reba said. “She’s one of my best friends. I will just always love her forever and ever… As she said, she’ll always have my back, and I’ll always have hers.”

Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman's Friendship Stands the Test of Time

Reba is delighted to be with her best friend again on Happy’s Place. The two have been close since 2001, when they met for Reba’s sitcom. Reba was the first person to sing to Melissa’s son when he was a newborn, and they’ve raised their children together.

Their friendship is such a beautiful thing!

“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.” Proverbs 27:9

Why You Turn to Food, Scrolling, or Shopping When Stressed

Why do we reach for food, social media, shopping, or distractions when life feels overwhelming?

When stress, loneliness, grief, or emotional exhaustion leaves us depleted, our brains naturally look for ways to feel better. But the things we reach for to find comfort don't always provide the restoration we truly need.

In episode 391 of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, Dr. Michelle Bengtson and Rev. Jessica Van Roekel discuss why we crave comfort during stressful seasons, how the brain responds to emotional distress, and how to move beyond temporary relief toward healthier ways of coping.

You'll learn how to identify what you're really feeling, recognize the needs behind stress-driven comfort habits, and take small, practical steps toward emotional restoration and God's lasting peace.

Rather than judging yourself for reaching for comfort, learn how to respond to your emotional needs with greater awareness, compassion, and biblical wisdom.

When life feels stressful, what do you tend to reach for first to find comfort?

How Gratitude Changes Everything: Jesse Bradley Shares the Power of Thankfulness

Can gratitude really change your life? In an inspiring conversation with GodTube's Janna Baily, Jesse Bradley shares how choosing gratitude, even during life's most difficult moments, can transform our perspective, strengthen our faith, and bring us closer to God.

Gratitude isn't just about being thankful when life is going well. It's a daily decision to focus on God's blessings rather than what we may have lost. Jesse reminds us that grief and gratitude can coexist. We can experience sadness, disappointment, and hardship while still holding on to hope and trusting God's promises.

Finding Joy Through Everyday Gratitude

Throughout the interview, Jesse explores the importance of finding our identity in God's grace rather than personal achievements or circumstances. He also explains how complaining and focusing on what we lack can prevent us from recognizing the blessings already surrounding us.

One simple way to develop a grateful heart is by writing down five to ten things you're thankful for each day. Incorporating gratitude into daily prayer can also help shift our mindset and deepen our relationship with God.

But gratitude doesn't just change us internally. It can also strengthen our relationships, encourage kindness, and create a positive ripple effect throughout our families and communities.

As 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us, we are called to give thanks in all circumstances.

Gratitude may not change our circumstances, but it can change how we experience them.

Watch the full interview with Jesse Bradley and GodTube's Janna Baily to discover how practicing gratitude can bring renewed hope, lasting joy, and a deeper connection with God.

Russell Brand On His Faith Journey And Profound Impact Of His Baptism

It’s amazing to realize how a superstar known for taking drugs and other controversies is such a strong follower of Christ. The actor, Russell Brand, is on a somewhat new faith journey, and he’s experienced the profound impact of baptism. Play the video to see him share all about it.

He shared, “Yesterday, I got baptized, and it was an incredible, profound experience… Many aspects of it were very intimate and personal. The truth is this—as a person who has in the past taken many, many substances and always been disappointed with their inability to deliver the kind of tranquility and peace and even transcendence that I always felt I’ve been looking for, something occurred in the process of baptism that was incredible, overwhelming… I felt changed, transitioned.”

After his baptism, he felt like he had a new resource that is helping him along—the holy spirit. He admits that he is new to Christianity but is ready to learn all he can. And he has a truly genuine enthusiasm to do so.

He feels rest in his relationship with Jesus and is nourished, happy, and loved in a way that he’s never been before. He’s so grateful that he is saved through Christ, and it is so lovely to see his pure and wholesome joy.

Russell Brand Shares How Following Jesus Changed His Priorities

In another video, Russell explains that in order to follow Christ, he had to let go of all of his idols and die to self. His biggest idol was himself—he worshipped himself, and that had to stop. He had been letting his wants and his fears take priority over everything. But when he let go of those, he found freedom through Christ, and it is a beautiful thing.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

Mom's Impressive Speed While Cheering On Son

This kid has got to have the most loving, supportive, and proud mother in the world. You have got to see this Connecticut mom's impressive speed while cheering on her son. Play the video to watch her run along the sidelines!

Her high school-age son is running track and finishing his last lap. His mom is right there along the sidelines, somehow keeping pace with him and shouting encouragement all the while.

“Go! Go!” she shouts over and over. When he makes it over the finish line, she pumps her fist in the air and jumps for joy.

It is so lovely to see how excited this mom is for her son. She is so supportive, and her boy is lucky to have her. Of course, any child who competes should have a supportive parent on their side, and some parents have a quieter nature and way of supporting them. But one mom of a wrestler could not contain her excitement when her kid went onto the mat.

Proud Sports Moms Show Their Love in the Most Hilarious Ways

Every time something happened, she gripped her husband’s arm or pushed against him as she shouted in order to keep herself from going onto the mat herself. Once, while shouting, she even nearly pushed him into another person watching the match when a major moment of excitement happened. Another time, her husband had to pull her back as she started toward the ring.

It’s pretty funny to see. She must be a lot to handle, but it’s all out of love for her child.

Actress Kim Raver once explained that when her son won a college volleyball match against the No. 1 team in the country, she ran onto the court.

“I was like jumping up and down!” she said. And what made it funnier is that it was an away game, and there were only 5 other people there to support her son’s team.

Whatever the occasion, it’s great to see these moms' love and enthusiasm for their children.

Actress Chokes Discussing Friendship With Reba McEntire

This actress chokes while discussing her friendship with Reba McEntire, and it is such a wholesome moment. Melissa Peterman starred with Reba in her show, titled "Reba," and she got the news that a new sitcom, “Happy’s Place,” with her, was picked up by a network during a live interview.

After she got over her shock and excitement, Melissa answered the question, “What does your friendship with Reba mean to you?”

She immediately began to tear up as she said, “She's like coming home, you know. I think that in this business, that's a lot. We have a lot of Hollywood friends, and you have friends that you share just the good stuff with, and I think I knew that when we started sharing like the

real-life stuff that was forever. I know she's got my back; whether we never work together again, she will be on my side always, and she knows I'm hers.”

Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman's Friendship Goes Far Beyond Hollywood

She was delighted to work together with her best friend again. The two have been close since 2001, when they met for Reba’s sitcom. Reba was the first person to sing to Melissa’s son when he was a newborn, and they’ve raised their children together.

They love getting into mischief and go on vacation together. Melissa’s also gone on tour with Reba several times.

Reba said, “When I was out on tour, she’d come with me, open the show, do a bit in the middle of the concert. The crowd cheering for her was four times louder than for me at any time because they love [Peterman] to pieces.”

They have a lot of fun working together on Happy’s Place, where Melissa stars as a bartender at Reba’s restaurant that she inherited.

It’s great that these two have such a special friendship. They truly love each other and enjoy having fun together.

Creating Tangible Reminders of God’s Faithfulness

Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at https://prayingchristianwomen.com/journal today!

How do you hold onto the memory of God’s faithfulness when life moves on and new challenges arise?

Jaime and Alana explore the biblical concept of raising an “Ebenezer”—a tangible monument or stone of help that declares, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

While it’s easy to experience an answered prayer or a miraculous breakthrough and quickly move on to putting out the next fire, Scripture repeatedly shows God’s people setting up physical memorials to remember what He has done. The co-hosts unpack the stories of Samuel’s stone of help and the twelve polished stones pulled from the Jordan River, looking at how tangible reminders not only anchor our own faith during hard seasons, but also serve as natural conversation starters to pass our testimonies down to our children.

Through personal stories and everyday examples—from prayer journals, Christmas ornaments, and cross-country bibs to writing Bible verses on bare concrete floors after an Alaskan earthquake—Jaime and Alana share practical ways to create spiritual mileposts in your own home. Alana addresses the tension between celebrating accomplishments and false humility, while Jaime reflects on using physical prompts to persevere in prayer, intentional family reflection, and even the question of whether tattoos can serve as modern-day Ebenezers.

Together, they encourage us to surround ourselves with reminders of God’s goodness so we never forget how far He has brought us. Whether you’re looking for creative ways to share your faith story with your kids, needing encouragement to trust God with a new obstacle, or wanting to build a habit of reflection and gratitude, we hope this episode inspires you to look back on God’s faithfulness with fresh eyes and confidence for the road ahead.
