How God Turns Our Pain into Purpose

Life is full of struggles, difficulties, and seasons of loss and disappointment. Instead of crying out and saying, "Why God," blaming Him for the difficulties, or being upset that He would allow them, I have learned to cling to Him despite them. I now choose to trust His promises, like Romans 8.28-29.

How Grief Revealed God's Presence and Strengthened My Faith

My faith has been challenged over the years with the loss of my mother in 2017, and I found that what I thought was a fickle faith and an unstable relationship with God was just my faith being challenged in ways that I hadn't imagined before. I can now say years later, my faith is stronger than ever, and thanks to my mom for that. She left a legacy of love, hope, and light, which she built on her relationship with God and her belief in Heaven.

How a Childhood Dream Led Me Straight into the Arms of Jesus

My journey started when I was about seven years old.

My best friend's dad was our pastor, and he talked to us girls and told us that we were lost. Well, I didn't understand what that meant as a seven-year-old, but it got me to thinking because up until that time, I just thought people went to heaven because they were good and the bad people went to, well, you know, that other place that kids aren't supposed to talk about. But then when he told us that, it got me thinking about it.

The Promise That Keeps Me Following Jesus Every Day

Here's why I'm a Christian and always will be. The first time I ever walked into a church, at least that I remember, I was around 11 years old, and it was actually the first time I had ever heard somebody talking about their relationship with Jesus. Believe it or not, the guy speaking at that church that day was somebody named Rick Stanley. I don't know where he is now. I don't know what he's doing with his life now, but at the time, he was Elvis Presley's stepbrother.

Praying for Justice: Faith, Law Enforcement & Christian True Crime with Janice Cantore

This is a special bonus episode that previously aired on the Christian True-Crime Junkies! podcast.

When crime stories dominate headlines, how do we talk about justice without losing sight of faith?

In this episode of Christian True-Crime Junkies!, we sit down with former Long Beach police officer turned Christian romantic suspense author Janice Cantore to explore what it’s really like to serve on the front lines of law enforcement, and how God shows up in the darkest moments.

Drawing from her time with the Long Beach Police Department, Janice shares firsthand stories from patrol, detective work, and even the Rodney King riots. We talk about mob mentality, officer safety, the emotional toll of responding to tragedy, and the complicated conversations surrounding protests, policing, and accountability. Janice also opens up about how a pivotal moment early in her career strengthened her faith and reshaped the trajectory of her life.

We also talk about Janice's brand new book Edge of Truth, and how her experiences in law enforcement directly shaped her Christian suspense novels.

Strength for What You’re Carrying

Michael Jr. Explains Why This One Question Will Transform Your Entire Perspective

Michael Jr. explained why this one question will transform your entire perspective. The funnyman pointed out a simple yet powerful question that most people rarely, if ever, consider. Watch the short but insightful clip to hear Michael Jr. discuss this question and why it can make such a difference.

Life is not a fair experience most of the time. Anyone who says or believes otherwise is incredibly naïve and only fooling themselves. At some point, those people will be in for a rude awakening. Nasty, horrible and heartbreaking situations do occur. To make them even worse, they often happen without a moment’s notice.

During these moments of pain, suffering and heartache, people tend to ask a lot of questions of themselves and others. They seek many answers. Some of those questions will be answered, but most will go unanswered. That can be a hard pill to digest for many, but the fact is that it’s only through this process, of asking questions and seeking answers, that anything ever changes.

In a clip posted on social media, Michael Jr. mentioned a question that most people consider or even think about, but when they do, their entire perspective can and likely will change. Pondering this question will give people a sense of purpose in life and not leave them feeling as if they are going through the emotions.

He mentioned that everyone, especially kids, is asked what they want to do when they grow up. But if you probe a little further and ask, well, why do you want to do this or that, he says it will often come back to money. But that kind of a mindset will leave people unfulfilled.

“Here’s the question you want to ask instead,” he said. “This question is so much better. Ask the question, ‘Who do I want to serve?’ And I’m not saying in some spiritual way, but it just fits that way as well. But when you ask the question, 'Who do I want to serve?' It changes everything.”

Later in the clip, he said he had this revelation while talking to a mechanic who said he does not fix cars but serves and helps people get to their destination.

“So, if you focus on the people, it’ll, it’ll put your alarm clock out of business,” he added.

Philippians 2:3 “Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self, let everyone take others to be better than himself.”

Through the eyes of Jesus

The Lord, Jesus' life in Holy Land

The Freedom of Repentance

Few things weigh heavier on the heart than unconfessed sin. Like carrying an anvil in a backpack, hidden guilt presses down on us, distorting our relationships and stealing our peace. Tonight’s episode reminds us that repentance is not meant to trap us in shame but to free us from it. God already knows our failures, and He does not respond to true confession with rejection. Instead, He meets repentance with mercy. The cross stands as proof that our sin has been dealt with fully and finally. Jesus endured shame and rose again so we would not be separated from the Father. When we bring our sin honestly before Him, we exchange burden for forgiveness and slavery for freedom.

Main Takeaways

-Discover why hiding sin only increases its weight and impact on your life.

-Learn how true repentance involves honest grief over sin but does not end in shame.

-Be encouraged that God meets sincere confession with forgiveness, not condemnation.

-Remember that repentance restores your relationship with the Father and invites you to move forward without regret.
