Mark 12:20-40

20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. 22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? . . .

I believe that the Book of Job is in our Bible for a reason. I believe it’s there for us to look to when we are going through rough times. There are so many verses that do imply that only good things happen when you are a child of God that books like this bring balance. It allows us to see that God does test some of us to see how much we love him. He allows certain things to happen to put the accuser’s accusation to the test sometimes.

God already knows who we are and how we are going to handle things, but the accuser doesn’t. He thinks everyone is like him--a prideful, 100 percent selfish, and hateful being that would curse God the moment something goes bad. He thinks that we would all stop being “on God’s team” the moment he allowed one of our blessings to be taken or some abuse to occur. Is satan right? Job answers that question.

Romans 8:24-29

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good

1 Samuel 2:27-36


27 And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? 28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me?
