The first week of October always carries its own rhythm. The air cools, the city changes wardrobes, and the leaves start to whisper that fall has arrived. For me, it’s not just about pumpkin bread or swapping linen for wool; it’s the sense of turning the page to a new chapter. And this week, that chapter came packed with launches, conversations, flavors, and even a little chaos from Washington D.C.

Let’s start with something I’m thrilled about: helping CestSiBon.org officially launch. If ThatPassportLife.com has become your go-to for travel, then CestSiBon.org is about to be your go-to for food. Think of it as its culinary cousin: a space where taste, culture, and storytelling meet. Recipes, reviews, commentary, and conversations that don’t just describe food but make you hungry for it. After months of behind-the-scenes planning, this beautiful new space is live and ready for you to explore. If you haven’t yet, subscribe—it’s going to be delicious.

And speaking of taste—let me talk about Daniel. New York is filled with restaurants that boast they’re the “ultimate” in fine dining, but Daniel Boulud’s temple on the Upper East Side doesn’t have to boast; it just delivers. I had the chance to spend an evening there this week, and it was everything you’d want a classic NYC dining experience to be. Amuse-bouches that felt like miniature gifts from the chef. A prix fixe menu that expanded into a full culinary journey once you added the breads, the petits fours, and even the tiny take-home jewelry box of mignardises that whispered, “remember this night tomorrow with your coffee.” Even for someone who’s eaten well in Rome, Sorrento, or Paris, this was an evening that reminded me why New York is still a global food capital.

Meanwhile, back in the broadcast world, it’s been a week of heavy hitters. Eric Trump joined me for an exclusive sit-down, and Ambassador Carla Sands brought her insight to the table. Then Governor Mike Huckabee, always a mix of charm and candor, reminded me why he’s been one of the most effective communicators in American politics for decades. We laughed, we debated, and we gave our audience what they deserve: clarity at a time when it feels like Washington is committed to confusion.

On the travel front, Linda Perillo and I had another lively Travel Tuesday. We’re in that sweet spot where summer wanderlust gives way to fall foliage escapes, and Linda always finds the right balance between practical advice and a good laugh. By Friday, Cristyne Nicholas—back fresh from France—joined me for Fun Friday. When Cristyne travels, she doesn’t just bring back photos; she brings back a point of view. And when she sits down in Times Square with me, it’s like we’re all getting our passports stamped together.

Of course, all of this unfolded against the backdrop of what I’ve now taken to calling the “Upside Hombres”—the folks in Washington who managed to shut the country down yet again. They say it’s gridlock. I say maybe it’s a rare mercy. After all, the less Washington does, the less damage they inflict. But the timing was perfect: I had already been writing about the potential upsides of a shutdown when the Democrats handed us a live-action version of the theory.

And now for the weekend lineup: this edition of That KEVIN Show is loaded. Dinesh D’Souza is joining us on the two-year commemoration of 10/7, Elizabeth Pipko will be here—model, author, and sharp political voice—and Jack Ciattarelli might just make the case for why he’s the next Governor of New Jersey. It’s going to be one of those weekends you don’t want to miss.

As always, travel smart, travel safe—only with MedJet.com/Kevin. And if you haven’t subscribed yet, head to CestSiBon.org today. Like ThatPassportLife.com is for travel, CestSiBon.org is for food. We’re just getting started.

Yo Quiero!
