Sandi Patty returns with new music today, releasing “The Voice I Have Now” (Stylos Records / Gaither Music Group), her first new single in more than a decade.
The release arrives during a milestone season for the five-time GRAMMY® Award winner, 40-time GMA Dove Award recipient and Gospel Music Hall of Fame member as she celebrates her 70th birthday and prepares to return to the Grand Ole Opry stage on October 11, marking her first performance on the iconic stage in many years.
Accompanying today’s release is the official music video for “The Voice I Have Now,” featuring acclaimed musician Gordon Mote. Directed by Andrew Greer (Plainspoken, Empty Stage), the video weaves rare footage from Patty’s personal archives with new footage filmed at iconic Latin music producer Rudy Perez’ Sanctuary Studio in College Grove,Tennessee, offering a moving look back at her extraordinary career while looking toward the season ahead.
Written by acclaimed songwriter Joel Lindsey (Kristin Chenoweth, Point of Grace, The Martins) and produced by Dove Award-winning producer Gordon Mote (Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson), “The Voice I Have Now” reflects on a lifetime shaped by music, relationships and faith in God.
“The privilege of turning 70 is that I have more years to look back and see God’s faithfulness,” Patty shares. “And the best predictor of God’s future faithfulness is to recount His faithfulness in the past. That is one of the most beautiful things that comes with age. I have so much for which to recount.”
For Patty, songs have always been more than performances; they have served as a journal of her life. “The Voice I Have Now” embraces the wisdom and confidence that come with experience, celebrating a voice refined by time and a continued desire to share the hope she has discovered along the way.
Following her 2015 Forever Grateful farewell tour, Patty stepped away from the demands of touring after decades on the road. Now, “The Voice I Have Now” and her upcoming return to the Grand Ole Opry signal a new season. One lyric captures the heart of the song: “I’m not ready for the final bow”—a reminder that purpose continues to unfold and meaningful stories are still waiting to be told.
Across a career spanning nearly five decades, Patty has recorded more than 30 albums, earned three RIAA Platinum and five Gold certifications, and inspired generations through beloved songs including “Love In Any Language,” “Via Dolorosa,” “Another Time, Another Place” and “We Shall Behold Him.” Her celebrated career has also included performances at the 1986 rededication of the Statue of Liberty, presidential inaugurations and PBS’ A Capitol Fourth, as well as appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and the GRAMMY Awards.
With “The Voice I Have Now,” Patty celebrates where she has been while looking ahead to what’s still to come—including her highly anticipated return to the Grand Ole Opry on October 11.
