The groom had no idea that his beautiful bride would surprise serenede him as she walked down the aisle. Even the father of the bride provides backup singing! :) Such a beautiful moment for this happy couple! May they have a lifetime of happiness together!
On August 15th 2012, I had a double knee replacement and was told I would never run again by a professional. 2 weeks ago, as my 9 year-old child struggled after running multiple laps at soccer practice on this very field, I told him I wished I could run with him to help. He told me that it would be a "miracle" if I ran again. This video was made for my child to let him know that NO ONE should dictate whether or not something is impossible. YOU are in control of your own actions. I am also posting this because anyone who knows how vain I am, knows that I would NEVER want anyone to see me with this much weight on me, let alone the world. As I continue on my personal journey back to being a healthy, fit individual, I want my kid to know that no matter what shape or size you might be, anything is possible if you have the drive. HUGE thanks to my visually impaired friend, Alyson, who embraced this challenge with me. Now that we know we can do it, we will be running laps after we exercise together 3 times a week. A young man was training to become a diving champion. His dream was to become an Olympic medalist. Despite having already won several medals, his greatest dream still remained that of obtaining an Olympic medal. He was entirely dedicated to his sport and all of his training sessions, and competitions were aimed at the hope of one day winning that Olympic medal. He had a promising future ahead of him, and was clearly a potential gold medalist.
He would often train in his local swimming pool along with one of his friends who was a Christian. Although the young diver was an unbeliever, he liked his friend, and so put up with all the God talk about Jesus Christ having died on the cross to save man. Even though he didn’t agree with him, he was however challenged by his friend’s faith. He couldn’t understand how his friend could entrust his life to an invisible creator and would often see him confide in God before taking any decision. Despite the young diver being challenged by the strength of his friend’s convictions, he didn’t have the same faith and only relied on himself to direct his life.
This story occurs in a hospital in the countryside where a surgeon is not available all the time. A surgeon hurriedly entered the hospital, having been called in for an urgent operation. He quickly changed into his clothes and headed straight for the operating theatre. There he found the father of the patient, pacing up and down the corridor. Upon seeing the surgeon, the man started to shout "Why have you taken so long to get here? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? You seem to take your responsibilities very lightly" The surgeon smiled and said " I'm sorry, I wasn't in the hospital but I came as quickly as I could after receiving the call. Now please could you calm down so that I can get on with my job."
The little boy bowed his head, trembled a litte and then asked softly, Tell me Mommy, can you give me 15 pounds please? The mother became very angry and started yelling: Is that the reason for asking me how much I earn? You want some money to buy some silly toy or sweets that ruin your teeth! I work like a dog and you think that it is for you to go and waste MY money on things like that. Do you realize what you are asking? Won’t you ever realize anything !!
Hello, our story today is titled…Dad is at the wheel. One day my wife and four year old daughter Johanne were headed towards Italy to visit some Christian brothers there. We had to drive for 3 days to get there. Our little girl had never travelled at night before and was very frightened. Outside, the deep darkness surprised her. "Where are we going Daddy?" "To the church of our brothers and sisters in Sicily, at the end of Italy" "Do you know this church?" "No" "Do you know the road?" "No…but we can use the map" "Do you know how to read the map Daddy?" "Yes, don't worry…we will arrive safely" "Where shall we eat when we are hungry?" "We might stop off at a restaurant" "Do you know if there are restaurants on the way?" "Yes there are" "Do you know where?" "No but we will find some"
Nelly was a lovely little girl, with beautiful dark brown locks. She was a charming little five-year-old girl, always laughing and singing. She specially loved jewellery. One day, Nelly was shopping with her mother and saw a beautiful necklace. It was a plastic, pink pearl necklace placed inside a little metal box. Just what a girl her age would love! “Oh please, Mummy, please, please, can you buy it for me? Please?” Nelly asked as she looked at her mother with begging eyes. Her mother turned the box over and saw the price, and then she looked at her little girl. She looked so sweet. Her mother, suppressing a smile said, “The necklace is almost £15. If you really want it, why don’t you help me at home and in no time you will have enough money to buy them yourself. Your birthday is in one week and Granny will certainly give you some money as well. This way, you will also understand the value of money and having to work hard for it.”
Hello pastor, I really enjoy listening to you on the website Enseigne-moi.com. I was born again in 2006 after having gone through a divorce and a deep depression. At the time, I just wanted to die. I then met a Christian, decided to follow a bible course and at last got baptized after 6 years of doubt. I must say, I am quite Cartesian in nature and my life has not been an easy ride but rather a rough one where I have had to hold on, so as not to let myself drown. I had hoped that my life would get better once I had become a Christian and that God would change my life. It has now been 6 years. Today I find myself still alone without a husband, living in a small apartment, driving a small car without a job and only some state aid as income. I still love God and his Word but quite honestly, I have given up. The weight has dried up the life in my bones and my faith is very low despite praying, begging, waiting, hoping, it has been nothing but desert. I think it must be something to do with me; something is not right; but what is it? Please answer me pastor if you have time. M Celeste Martin
In december 1943 I found myself in a concentration camp for 9 months. I was terrifyingly thin, and my body was covered in sores. On christmas eve, the camp commander sent for me. When I arrived, i found him seated at a table before a sumptuous dinner. He made me watch during his whole meal and continuously tormented me for being a christian and because I preached the gospel to my companions in chains. At the end, coffee and cakes were brought out. "Your wife is an excellent baker" remarked the commander as he ate a cake. As I didn't understand, he explained: Each month your wife has sent a package of cake which I have enjoyed
One day in 1831, in an auction house in London, an old, black, dirty violin was up for sale. It was confirmed to have come from Cremona in Italy and was 120 years old. It had been made by the famous Stradivarius.
The Auctioneer started the proceedings off at 10 Euros and managed, with some difficulty to reach the sum of 200 Euros but the bidding stopped there.
"Now see here gentlemen, 200 Euros for an instrument worth its weight in Gold, dating from 1700? An authentic Stradivarius masterpiece?"
The Auctioneer's efforts seemed to be in vain when suddenly, into the room walked a man dressed in a velvet garment. As if drawn by a magnet, he approached the table, took the violin from its case and examined it with a connoisseur's eye. He lifted up the bow. Complete silence fell in the room. Several people who recognized him murmured amongst themselves, « It’s Paganini! »
