Ben is a student with Down Syndrome who lives at the Beech Grove Bruderhof in Nonington, Kent. This summer he grew a giant pumpkin with his friend Mario. You won't believe how big it got!

A young boy with Down Syndrome has grown an enormous pumpkin – winning 1st prize at the Royal Horticultural Show in London.

Ben Ben-Eliezer, 14, lives at a Christian community called the Bruderhof in Kent. Together with his teacher, Mario, he worked all winter turning compost in preparation for growing something spectacular. But just how spectacular took everyone by surprise. By July, the pumpkin already weighed 212 pounds, and in August it was taking 600 gallons of water a week to keep it growing.

Surrounded by his school friends, Ben cut the vine on October 1st in preparation for the show. “We were worried it might be rotten or have a rat underneath” said Ben, but luckily the pumpkin was perfect.

When the big day at the show arrived, the pumpkin weighed in at 1248 pounds and won first prize! As Ben remarked “Even the judges were surprised.”

Mercy the Dog was dumped on the side of the road with so many broken bones that she couldn't even stand up. Thankfully, a kind woman found and rescued her. Mercy finally got the love and care she desperately needed. And just look how happy she is now!

Elliot Hurst was about to end his shift at Wal-Mart when the unthinkable occurred. A stranger grabbed a woman's 4-month-old baby in the checkout line and started to choke the infant. Elliot and other bystanders fought off the attacker until police could arrive. No harm came to the baby thanks to these amazing heroes.

8-year-old Vanessa Vega lost her police officer father in the line of duty. Today, she's returning to school for the first time since his death and she's getting one heck of an escort. Fellow police officers who worked with her father came out to show their support for Vanessa in the most amazing way possible.

5-year-old Lexi is receiving a well-deserved medal after saving the life of her baby brother and mother after a scary car wreck. When their family vehicle drove off an embankment, Lexi's mom, Angela, was knocked unconscious with a broken back. Lexi unbuckled her car seat and made her way up the embankment where she flagged down a car for help. Thank goodness for this brave little girl!

Rose And Martin celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in the sweetest way possible, with a song and a snuggle. And even though this was Martin's last anniversary on Earth, Rose will always have this beautiful memory to hold onto. So touching!
