Army Vet Is Stunned To Find Out That Old Rolex Is Now Worth $700,000

Featured on the popular show “Antiques Roadshow,” an Army vet is stunned when he hears that his old Rolex watch is now worth around $700,000. The veteran shares with the appraiser, Peter Planes, that he was stationed in southeast Asia in the 1970s when he became interested in Rolex watches. He saw a lot of pilots wearing these watches which sparked his fascination. The particular watch that he purchased was the Rolex Oyster Cosmograph. This specific model is popular with collectors because Paul Newman wore it in the 1969 movie “Winning”. The veteran wanted to find a watch that he could eventually wear while scuba diving, a pastime that he enjoyed. He thought that this Rolex model would stand up to taking it underwater. "I found this particular watch where I could afford it, and I never used it. I looked at it and I said, `You know, this is really too nice to take down in salty water,'" he said. "I just kept it." After paying $345.97 for the Rolex watch, the vet ultimately decided to just keep it in a safe deposit box, along with all the purchase documents. He held on to that watch for nearly half a century before taking it to the “Antiques Roadshow” showroom. When Peter Planes saw the watch, he knew he had some incredible news to share with the Army vet. "Because of the condition of it, basically, it's a new old stock watch, no wear on it," Planes shares. "We have all this complete documentation here, also, maybe one of the very few in the whole world that still was never worn, your watch, at auction, today, $500,000 to $700,000." The watch owner falls to the floor in utter disbelief! His heels go over his head as he tries to process that shocking amount. "You OK?" Planes says as he goes to check on him. What a stunning discovery! I’m sure that veteran is glad to have held on to that treasure for all these years!

Anthony Hopkins Tears Up When Orchestra Performs His Original Composition Decades Later

In this moving video, an orchestra teams up with Anthony Hopkins and performs an original composition of his decades later. Not only is Sir Anthony Hopkins an incredible actor, but he is a talented composer as well! Titled “And The Waltz Goes On,” this piece by Hopkins was performed by André Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra. At the beginning of this video, you can see the look of excitement on Anthony Hopkins’s face as the orchestra is about to start playing his piece. The music starts off with light string plucking. Then a clarinet plays a few low notes, followed by a saxophone. The string section comes in next, adding a fullness to the music. Later, the conductor even grabs a violin and joins the orchestra in playing the beautiful melody. As the music swells and a choir onstage joins in with the musicians, you can feel the magic and energy that is captivating everyone there. Some audience members can be seen swaying as they feel the movement of the music, others are so drawn to the music that they can’t look away from the stage. Anthony Hopkins is seen smiling ear to ear and looking around to see if others are enjoying the piece that he composed. He can even be seen humming parts of the melody in certain parts. As he is taking in the sight, he tears up realizing how this wonderful orchestra is performing his original composition decades after he wrote it down. While the song has a more mysterious feel at the beginning, halfway through the melody becomes a bit more playful and fun. People in the audience start dancing in their seats and can’t help but smile at one another. Even the musicians on stage look like they are having a grand time! One person on YouTube comments about the music and says, “It's beautiful... there is love, happiness, playfulness, and a shy reserved nature about it. I suspect much like the man who wrote it.” Anthony Hopkins did an outstanding job creating this dramatic piece of music, and the talented musicians did a wonderful job bringing it to life as well. This magnificent piece is hauntingly enchanting with a melody that you will be humming along to long after you hear it.

Deer In Forest Is Mesmerized By Man Playing The Flute

In this captivating video, a deer in the forest is mesmerized by a man playing the flute. At the start of the video, a talented man is playing soothing music on his flute, and it looks like the deer is just lying there enjoying his peaceful melody. When the camera zooms in on the deer, she doesn’t seem to be alarmed at all, just content to stay right there and keep on listening. The musician starts to get bold as he takes a few steps closer to the deer. Her reaction remains the same – calm, cool, and collected. As he continues to step closer, the deer still doesn’t move. What a surprising sight! When he finishes playing his song, the deer gets up slowly, stretches her legs, and gracefully walks away into the woods. “She forgot to leave a tip,” the musician jokingly says as his friend who is filming him laughs. The musician, who is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, recounts that day when he met that curious deer in the forest. "On my way back from recording music in the woods for my YouTube channel Paul Harvey flute guy, I came across a wild deer. Naturally, I took out my native American flute and started to play. The deer sat down and listened for almost eight minutes. I was able to get close to the deer before it finally stood up, stretched and then slowly trotted away. Definitely not something one gets to see every day! My heart was pumping! I was so glad I was able to capture the experience." It's almost something out of a fairytale! Where a character will sing or play an instrument and all the woodland creatures will gather around to enjoy the music. This is one encounter that this man will not forget!
