A man and woman who are now husband and wife were shocked to find out they were part of the other's life before they stood at the altar and said, “I do.”

Life is an odd and, at times, even a funny experience. It’s often a series of unexpected series of events with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Things can happen when and where you least expect it. Also, as one now-married couple has found out, it is a small, small world.

Joshua and Elizabeth Colbert are now husband and wife, having met on the popular dating app Hinge. Joshua, in a clip posted on YouTube, states that it was “love at first sight.”

But that doesn’t appear to be the case at all. 

After they got together, Joshua and Elizabeth learned they were in the same kindergarten class in Blaine, Minnesota. The video shows clips of the two of them as children walking during their kindergarten graduation. At one point during the ceremony, Elizabeth’s mother inadvertently zooms her camera in on Joshua. 

However, that is not the only place where their pasts intersect.

Joshua and Elizabeth share the same birthday. They were born in the same hospital, a little more than six hours apart. Joshua is the older of the two of them.

“So, we found our birth certificates, and we were born, same doctor delivered us,” Joshua said. 

It's remarkable that Joshua and Elizabeth’s lives have crossed paths so much. In fact, Joshua believes that the two of them coming together and getting married is something only God could have done.

“We believe that God brought us together,” Joshua said.

Before the clip ends, viewers learn that Joshua and Elizabeth will now celebrate their wedding anniversary and birthdays on the same day. They tied the knot on their 35th birthdays.

One man’s daughter had just given birth, and while he was overjoyed to become a grandfather, he found a sweet, simple way to show love and affection to his own little girl. 

While everyone loves babies, likely no one adores them more than grandparents. Whenever grandma and grandpa enter the room, their eyes and attention are on their grandchildren. They want nothing more than to hug and hold those youngsters. But in a grandparent’s rush to show their grandchildren affection, they may sometimes overlook their own children.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a new grandfather showed care, attention and love to his daughter, who had just given birth, in a subtle and sweet way. The short video shows the man sitting by his daughter, holding her hand. 

“He was like tapping my hand,” Deborah Gilbert said. “Like, you know, he’s not really saying anything, but he kind of wants some assurance. And he just made me feel so, like, looked after.”

Deborah states that her father’s sweet display of affection came as several other people were in the room, lovingly looking after and fawning over the precious new life. Then, she happened to notice her father holding and tapping her hand. Deborah described it as a “full circle moment.”

“And then I realized that my dad was just sitting beside me, and then he was just like holding my hand,” she said. “And I thought, ‘Oh my God,” because I looked over to my husband. And my husband was holding his daughter. And I looked over to my dad, and he was holding me. And I just thought, ‘This is such a full circle moment, right?’”

She recalls feeling loved and looked after, almost like he reminded her that she was still his little girl. That’s a special moment that Deborah will forever remember and cherish.

A young woman made a startling and interesting discovery while on a beach in Turks and Caicos, and then she sought out the individual who penned the nearly 20-year-old message in the recovered bottle. 

Everyone has been given free will and the ability to make decisions that ultimately set the course for their life. However, sometimes situations are out of our control. Life can often be a string of unanticipated sequences, leading someone to people and places that they’d had never imagined in their wildest dreams. At that time, it’s more about how we react.

Cassidy Beach, 21, found herself living out the title of a song by The Police when she came across a message in a bottle, according to a video posted on YouTube. Cassidy said a wave of excitement and anticipation came over her after finding the glass container because, before even opening it, she could see the date on the message. The letter was dated September 30, 2004.

The letter states the bottle was thrown in the water while fishing east of Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. It also instructs the person who happened to find the bottle to reach out to him, letting him know where the discovery was made. 

Cassidy then tracked down the man, Pennel Ames, who had tossed not just that bottle but more than 500 others into the ocean. As the video shows, Pennel has tracked the bottles’ journey, which has taken them past several European countries, including France, Spain and Portugal. 

Eventually, though, the bottles make the long trek back across the Atlantic Ocean, where they have landed in places like Bermuda, Cuba and Belize.

The video ends by stating that 21-year-old Cassidy was not the first individual to answer Pennel’s message in a glass bottle. Nearly 80 people have found them and reached out to him over the years.

One city worker showed a woman kindness during one of the lowest points of her life, and it ended up having a monumental impact, one he did not see coming.

Life can be a trying, unfair experience filled with unexpected hardships. It's during those times when a little love, kindness and empathy can make a world of difference. Random acts of kindness may improve someone's day, but we may never see the outcome or results of that deed. However, one man, Calvin Godette, did. His simple act of kindness changed someone’s entire life.

Calvin is a utility worker in Chesterfield, Pennsylvania, and he knows what it means to fix problems. He also understands kindness and shows constant care, love and consideration for his fellow man. He does it so often that he spends approximately half of his income helping other people, according to a video posted on YouTube.

Calvin knows that a simple act of kindness could change an entire life.

“You never know, Calvin said. “You could do something for somebody or talk to someone and you could change their whole situation.”

When Calvin was in the drive-thru at Burger King, he spotted Denise Walters, a woman in the car behind him. She was sad, obviously going through something painful at the time. Calvin decided to pay for her meal, a small way to try and brighten her day. 

Denise had just lost her husband, Andy, of more than 40 years.

“Somebody to do something that nice for you on that very moment when I thought nothing could make me happy again, it just touched my heart,” Denise said.

So, she tracked Calvin down. She stopped him on the highway and thanked him for his kind act. She also told Calvin’s employer about his act, and got him recognized before a county board. 

Calvin and Denise have remained in touch since that day. Also, Calvin’s act of kindness motivated Denise. She now randomly helps other people, showing them kindness and love.

A young woman selected the perfect name for her child, naming her baby after her brother, who has autism, and his reaction to the special honor is hilarious.

As any parent knows, coming up with names for their children can be quite a task. It can be such a difficult step to complete that there are many books dedicated to assisting expectant parents in locating the perfect name. Selecting a name can even lead to heated arguments and disagreements between the expectant parents. 

But as one video shows, a woman selected what she thought was the perfect name for her newborn child. She decided to name her son after her brother, who has autism. It’s a sweet way to honor the young man who obviously has meant a great deal to her. 

However, she was probably more than a little surprised by his hilarious reaction once he discovered the special honor. 

In the short, 42-second video posted on Facebook, the young man and an older gentleman both enter the room where the baby is peacefully sleeping. The child’s mother asks her brother, “What’s his name?”

The young man responds by asking, “Why?” His sister then tells him that he must read it to find out the child’s moniker. 

The child’s mother reads the baby’s name to him, “Cole Dylan.” 

“He’s named after you,” she tells her brother.

“Why?” is his response, which elicits several laughs from people in the room. 

“Because we thought you’d like it,” his sister states.

“Nah,” he says as he walks off camera.

That probably wasn’t the response she or anyone else was expecting! But nevertheless, what a beautiful way to honor and recognize her brother, who she obviously loves and who will likely play a huge role in the child’s life. 

Despite his hilarious and less-than-enthusiastic response to the child’s name, we’re sure he’ll love being an uncle to the child named after him.

Several people stepped up and sprang into action, saving a fellow runner’s life when he suffered a massive heart attack while running a half marathon in Pennsylvania.

Exercise is a good, necessary and worthwhile activity that helps keep people healthy and allows them to avoid some medical issues. However, no amount of running, daily exercise or weight training will protect someone from every single ailment that can hurt or damage our bodies. The body, much like everything else in life because of sin, is imperfect. 

This is a reality that 65-year-old Greg Woodman knows all too well. Greg had the aim of participating in the famed Boston Marathon. As part of his training, Greg took part in a half marathon in Pennsylvania. 

But soon after beginning the race in the Keystone State, things went horribly wrong. Greg experienced a massive heart attack, according to a clip posted on YouTube. 

“He was definitely dead at that time, yes,” one woman said in the video.

However, God placed the right people in the right place who knew what to do to try and get Greg’s heart working again. They had been prepared for such situations. Medical professionals, including two ER nurses, were also running in the Pennsylvania half marathon.

Those medical professionals got to work immediately, taking turns performing chest compressions on Greg until an ambulance arrived on the scene.

One man in the clip mentioned that he actually got sick to his stomach at one point but fought through it to help save Greg’s life.

“I started compressions right there,” one man said. “It felt like I broke every rib in his chest, honestly. And it made me, like, sick to my stomach, but I was like, ‘I have to do what I have to do.’”

But those medical professionals weren’t the only people who aided during the emergency. Bystanders helped to count for the medical professionals as they performed chest compressions on Greg. 

After six minutes, the clip states, Greg’s heart started beating again. 

“If I had been running alone, I would not be here today,” Greg said.

A woman came up with an inventive and affordable solution to create a separate living space for her elderly mother, who was alone on the other side of the country.

Most parents, over the years, do so much for their children. Mom and dad provide their children with love, care and precious time, often giving their kids all they have and then some. So, when it comes time for the children to return the favor and help their elderly parents in any way they can, it’s a blessing.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Monique Marshall, an only child, knew she had to do something for her mother after her stepfather passed away. Monique’s mother, Karin Notbom-Healey, who is 84 years old, was living in her New York City apartment by herself, 3,000 miles away from Monique in Los Angeles. 

Monique knew she had to do something. But what? 

Luckily, Monique’s husband, Demille, was all on board, willing to do anything to assist Karin in her advanced age. That’s when Monique and Demille brainstormed with their friends and neighbors, Pierre and Carmen, who happen to be architects. After much thought and planning, they came up with a solution: “glam garage.”

Monique and Demille decided to turn their old and drafty garage into an apartment space for Karin. But as is always the case with any remodel or construction project, they encountered issues. However, it was nothing too big that kept them from completing the project. And the results are fantastic!

Karin is in love with her new living space and new city. When Karin first stepped into her Los Angeles apartment, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

“It was overwhelming,” Karin said. “I was so shocked. And it was all, Monique had done all the furniture, everything that you see here. I mean, I didn’t have to do anything.” 

To show her gratitude and to help with costs, Karin even pays $1,000 a month in rent. 

What a wonderful and creative solution that came about because of love, care and concern.

Legendary dancer and performer Michael Flatley has thrilled audiences for decades, showcasing his mesmerizing and mystifying fast-paced dance routines on stages. 

Dance, like painting or filmmaking, is an art form. Some may even argue that dance is the most difficult of those three. While painting is primarily a solitary activity, done, for the most part, without the involvement of others, filmmaking and dance are usually collaborative in nature. Sure, making a film or performing a dance can be done by oneself. However, that’s not usually the case.

Becoming a world-class dancer is a tall task. It involves perfecting the steps and movements and getting the timing down. Add dozens of other people to the mix, it becomes exponentially more difficult. But when a dance is done correctly, it's beautiful. 

A clip posted on YouTube features some of Michael Flatley’s best moments from his career on stage. The short video shows the talented dancer as he moves about the stage, dazzling audiences as he does so. 

The quick, rapid-fire movement of his feet is awe-inspiring. It will likely leave most people blown away by the skill and technique involved in such a unique display. 

In every segment of the clip, Michael is joined on stage by other performers who either play an instrument or dance around the stage with him. Every movement and second is timed and highly choreographed, making the display even more impressive. One false move or missed step could easily throw everyone's timing off. 

Several others commented on the YouTube video that compiles some of the best moments of Michael’s lengthy career on stage. They also expressed their amazement at the precision and timing that goes into those dance numbers.

“What makes Michael’s shows so truly amazing is the fact that all those dancers make the sound of one dancer, showing their true unison in the dance. Exceptionally perfect!!!!!” one person wrote.

“This man’s talent is absolutely incredible. No one else compares!” a second person added.

“The Fred Astaire of Celtic dance, but its not a one man show. The entire ensemble in each production is magnificent,” someone else posted.

A highly decorated and accomplished figure skater displayed her skill and finesse on the ice with her stunning routine while skating to a hit from the classic rock band Queen.

Figure skaters must be some of the best, most intelligent and most disciplined athletes. Not only do they possess a ton of talent and spend countless hours on the ice perfecting their craft, but they must know their bodies and their limits. 

In an average routine, figure skaters perform moves and maneuvers that, if done incorrectly, could result in serious injury and possibly death. They must know when they are in the right frame of mind to attempt a particular move and when not to hold back.

Nicole Schott, a seven-time German figure skating champion, put on a dazzling and terrific routine while skating to a cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Yes, Nicole, during her approximately 3-minute routine is skating. But very early in the clip, the young woman appears to cease skating and instead dances around the ice, performing to the sweet sounds of the classic song.

Nicole spins and twists with dizzying speed but continues as if she’s not bothered at all. 

Her movement on the frozen, slippery surface is done with beauty, elegance and grace. Her entire routine appears effortless, which is the true sign of a professional and someone at the top of their game.

She really does put on a show, treating the audience to a magnificent display of athleticism, skill, strength and showmanship. At the end of her performance, the audience reacts accordingly. They give the young woman a thunderous round of applause.

Some people posted on the YouTube video of Nicole’s beautiful routine, mentioning how much they adored her performance.

“Phenomenal choreography. Jumps into spins,” one person wrote.

“I definitely wouldn’t listen to this song on its own but her skating makes it special,” a second individual added.

One young woman’s surprising move had a monumental impact on her mother as she neared the finish line of a long-distance race.

Small and seemingly simple acts of kindness and love can result in massive, life-altering consequences for the recipient. Most of the time, the impact of those acts is rarely, if ever, seen. But we can rest assured that it made a positive difference in someone else’s life and world.

A clip posted on YouTube shows one 10-year-old young woman surprising her mother by sprinting onto the course during the waning moments of the Revel Big Cottonwood Marathon in Salt Lake City, Utah. She runs out to her mother as she passes by and grabs her hand as they finish the race together.

However, the young lady had no idea that that act of kindness was exactly what her mother needed at that moment. Courtney Rich states that the final 1.7 miles of the marathon finishes on an incline. She could feel that her body was wearing down.

“I was ready for it mentally, but my legs were just done,” Courtney said. “I could just feel them slowing down.”

Despite what she was feeling, Courtney did not want to give up as the finish started to come into view. But then something happened.

“I started to pick it up, and I started to sprint,” Courtney said. “And next thing I knew, my daughter ran out. Just kind of saw her out of the corner of my left eye. And I realized it was Avery, and it just put a huge smile on my face. “

She mentioned after that, her body didn’t feel nearly as tired or worn down.

“I stuck out my hand. She grabbed it,” Courtney said. “All of a sudden, my legs that were hurting, and the heaviness of my body just felt lighter, and we just ran to the finish line, hand in hand. It was pretty special.”

Courtney used her daughter’s sweet act to teach her of the need for small, random acts of kindness.

“And I said, ‘Avery, this is an incredible example of how one little thing had a ripple effect and how it’s inspiring so many other people,’” she said. ‘So don’t ever, ever brush aside the prompting or the inspiration to do a small act of kindness for someone. Because you just never know what impact that will have on people.’”

A woman in Texas said she felt moved by the Lord to help a man she saw walking on the side of the road.

Life is a series of unexpected events and situations, many of which come with more than enough worries, stresses and anxieties. Of course, those stressful and worrisome circumstances can negatively impact an individual and an entire family. That’s why random acts of kindness can have monumental, life-changing consequences.

Heath Nelson knows how much a stranger’s act of love and kindness can mean during a difficult time. He would ride his electric bicycle to work every day, but when it broke down and stopped functioning, Heath was left without many options, according to KBTX News.

Needing to still make a living but without a mode of transportation to get him to his place of employment, Heath did the only thing he could do. He began walking two hours to and from work. 

“I try to do what I can to pay my bills,” Heath told KBTX.

However, little did he know that someone he didn’t even know, Rebecca Wendt, saw that he needed help. She saw him on the side of the road as he made his trek to work day after day. 

“It was just like God bopped me over the head and said, ‘Find out where that man lives and what his needs are,’” Rebecca said.

After getting in touch with Heath, and learning about his situation, Rebecca got to work. She posted a message on social media, hoping to raise money to purchase Heath a new bike. 

The outlet reports that only two hours later, Rebecca, thanks to the generosity of others, had raised more than $1,000 for Heath’s new electric bike. Rebecca then purchased the new bike and promptly delivered it to Heath, someone she had never even met in person before that moment.

“It’s emotional,” Heath said. “It brought tears to my eyes. You know, I mean, what she gave me was remarkable.”

But that was not all. Rebecca gave Heath the rest of the money raised, which had not been spent on the new bike. It’s money that Heath will use to buy a set of dentures.

“Oh, it’s a blessing, trust me,” said Heath. “The Lord works in mysterious ways.”

One cute, furry, four-legged creature could not contain her excitement when spotting her owners after being separated from them for several weeks.

Several animals are mentioned in Genesis, as God was creating day, night, the oceans and man. Animals are special beings who are all members of God’s creation. As such, he bestowed upon them a certain level of intelligence – much higher than most of the population would like to admit. 

A clip posted on YouTube shows how one animal, a Siberian husky named Ashley, instantly recognized her owners despite being away from them for weeks. The dog was unable to withhold her joy at seeing her owners, jumping and pawing incessantly at the glass barrier separating them.

The video mentions that Ashley became lost and separated after the animal walked out a door that had been left open by someone tasked with watching Ashley. To make matters worse, Ashley’s owners could not track her movements or locations. The Siberian husky had not been microchipped.

Understandably, after weeks apart and without a way to electronically track her, Ashley’s owners began to lose hope. They started to believe that reuniting with their beloved pooch was not in the cards. 

But then something unexpected happened. 

Ashley had been picked up and thought to be a stray, taken to an animal shelter nearly 250 miles from her home. The clip points out that “an advocate for lost and found dogs” spotted what they believed to be Ashley’s photo and contacted her owners. The next day, Ashley’s owners made the trek to the animal shelter and discovered that it was, in fact, their lost beloved four-legged friend.

The video shows the moment Ashley first spotted her owners. She is lying on the ground, but when she sees her owner, Ashley's demeanor changes. The animal runs up to the glass and desperately tries to find a way to get out from behind the piece of glass that separates her from the owners.

One mother is warning other parents about the danger of magnets in refillable water balloons after her 8-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital screaming in pain.

Parents hope for and desire nothing more than for their children to enjoy a safe, happy and carefree childhood. Whenever that is not the case, whether it be due to a disease, an illness or some other reason, parents can be left feeling distraught and hopeless. Unfortunately, one mother in Ohio experienced that feeling of helplessness, and she’s now warning other parents.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Kelley Whitty recalls the traumatizing and scary situation that resulted in her 8-year-old daughter, Leah, having to be sedated at the hospital. Medical professionals then worked to remove six magnets from the child’s nose.

Kelley states that the situation began innocently enough after Leah had finished enjoying time in the pool at a friend’s house. 

“I got a call from the friend’s mom, and she was like, ‘Hey, we were all in the pool.’ Leah got out, grabbed a towel, wiped her face and just started screaming,’” Kelley said.

No one was sure what was happening with the child. Leah mentioned she was experiencing “burning and stinging in her nose.” Unsure of what was happening, Kelley took her daughter to the hospital for help.

At first, those medical professionals were baffled as well. But as they continued working, they spotted something shiny in the youngster’s nose. The child had six magnets in her nostrils – four on one side and two on the other. The magnets had “bonded in each side of her nose,” Kelley said.

“Nobody ever wants to see their children hurt or in pain,” Kelley said. “And then the fact that I kind of sit back in the corner of the room and watch these doctors and nurses lay on top of her and try to remove these. I kind of had to comfort her from a distance. That was really hard.”

A doctor in the clip stated that if someone were to swallow multiple magnets, they could potentially try and bond and may damage tissues or intestines. 

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old, he will not be turned away from it.”

Animals living in deplorable conditions were rescued, received the necessary medical treatment, rehabilitated and then released back into their natural habitat or placed in animal sanctuaries.

Animals are members of God’s creation. They were placed on Earth by the same God who created man and also hung the sun, moon and stars in place. As such, they deserve love, care, kindness and respect.

A clip posted on YouTube shows some of the best, but also some of the worst behavior of human beings. The video shows people rescuing animals that had been mistreated and endured some horrendous conditions. After rescuing the animals, different groups of people helped to nurse them back to health and later released them into the wild.

The clip begins in 2016 with the rescue of two orangutans. The video mentions the two animals were “living in deplorable conditions.” So, over the course of five years, the two orangutans were rehabilitated in what is called “forest school.” 

They were then released back into the Asian forest. 

The next story the clip mentions is that of Martha, a 17-year-old brown bear. The bear, up until it was rescued, had spent its entire 17-year existence in captivity. In addition to being kept in small, confined spaces, the bear was also not “fed well.”

Martha, after her rescue, was taken to a veterinarian, where the animal was thoroughly examined. The bear was transported to an animal sanctuary where other bears were currently residing. 

The clip ends with the story of a nearly 30-year-old chimpanzee, Vanilla. Vanilla had spent its entire life locked up in a testing lab. But in June 2023, the animal finally took its first steps outside.

The look on the animal’s face, as it gazes up into the sky and gets its first glance at the sun, is moving and priceless.

Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Brain walks up to the podium looking sharp in his wedding suit, and starts to sing out ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ with his wonderful voice.

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.”

What a beautiful performance, and one that his wife and the guests at the wedding must have truly appreciated.

“A magnificent voice. What an incredible gift to God and his bride,” writes one person on YouTube after watching the video. “May you share many years of happiness and blessings together.”

“That just took my breath away. I love the Lord's Prayer. Well done,” comments another person online.

This famous scripture known as ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ is found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, and we see how Jesus is teaching his disciples how they should pray when we read through the text. The six steps taught in the prayer include 1) address God’s rightful place as the Father, 2) worship and praise God for who He is and all that He has done, 3) acknowledge that it is God’s will and plans that are in control and not our own, 4) ask God for the things that we need, 5) confess our sins and repent, and 6) request protection and help in overcoming sin and Satan's attacks on us.

Prayers really do get answered. A 12-year-old is in tears after finding out he’s going to be a big brother. 

Being an only child can feel like a miserable existence at times. There’s no one to play with, and you’re in charge of keeping yourself entertained. Plus, there are only your parental units to contend with on holidays and family vacations. But having a sibling is like having a built-in best friend. Sure, the childhood years are filled with pranks, frustration, and angst, but you know you wouldn’t trade your sibling for the world now that you’re all grown up. 

Still, some people have the opinion that siblings are the worst. It makes me wonder what kind of pranks their siblings pulled. It has to be something worse than shaving off eyebrows while you’re asleep or making copies of your diary to share with the whole entire high school. But maybe I’m the only one who had these experiences with my siblings. 

Desiree knew her son had been praying for a long time to have a sibling. At the age of 12, he figured it would become an unanswered prayer. But when his mother learned of this unexpected and welcome pregnancy, she couldn’t wait to tell her son. She danced with joy as she had a special shirt made for the happy surprise. The shirt for her son read, “Big brother, finally!” 

It was an incredible mother-son moment captured on video and watched by millions. Desiree calls her son into the kitchen to tell him she has a surprise. First, she reminds him how she’s been sick, and she wasn’t sure why. 

Then she reveals she knows the reason, but he needs to close his eyes because it is a surprise. Smiling from ear to ear Desiree dresses him in the special shirt. In anticipation, her son is bewildered and wondered how feeling sick can be a good thing until he looks down and reads the message on the shirt in utter astonishment. 

At first he’s speechless as the news settles in with blessed joy. He is finally going to be a big brother. According to Desiree’s TikTok, they are excitedly waiting for the arrival of their precious baby girl. Her son will definitely be the perfect protector of a big brother. Children are such a gift from the Lord. 

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him,” Psalm 127:3. 

Two award-winning figure skaters displayed their immense skills on the ice while delivering a beautiful and emotional routine to a song from the popular film “Sound of Freedom.”

Figure skaters are most certainly athletes in every sense of the word. Becoming a world-class figure skater requires total and unyielding commitment, loads of talent and thousands of hours of highly-intense, super-focused practice. However, pulling off a winning routine also requires that the figure skaters have some charisma and be able to connect with the audience on an emotional level. 

Emily Chan and Spencer Howe thoroughly demonstrated they are skilled skaters and entertainers. The duo turned in a stunningly beautiful routine, set to the song “Sound of Freedom” by Justin Jesso, that achieved both tasks – as a skater and an entertainer. They both adequately displayed their skills as figure skaters. But they also allowed the music to guide them, timing their moves to fit with the sound and feel of the song. 

Their inspiring and heartfelt performance certainly struck a chord with the spectators as they responded with a healthy round of applause and cheers. 

The video’s description on YouTube points out their routine happened at  the 51st annual “An Evening with Champions.” The yearly event, which takes place at Harvard University, aims to raise money to help fight childhood cancer. 

Additionally, following their routine, Spencer mentioned he and Emily were also skating for one more reason. They are hoping to raise awareness of another cause as well. 

“We also want to say that, like that program, we hope that everyone enjoyed it,” Spencer said. “We dedicated it for the “Sound of Freedom,” which is spreading the message on child trafficking. And I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but it’s a great film.”

Christian musician and the lead singer of the band CAIN, Logan Cain, stated how he has been able to humble himself and love and help someone battling addiction. 

The world is full of imperfect, flawed people. There are individuals all around who are fighting personal battles. Whether they are struggling with alcohol, pornography, gambling or something else entirely, no one is perfect. People have problems and addictions. 

Logan, in a clip posted on YouTube, mentioned how he first dealt with and interacted with the woman who would eventually become his wife. He says that his wife had an “irregular relationship with alcohol.” He mentions a situation, before they were married, when she blacked out outside a football stadium and woke up in an ambulance.

Logan admits that her issue with alcohol was something totally foreign to him. He states that he did not understand the concept of addiction as a disease. He couldn’t understand how someone couldn’t just kick their addiction. Did they love the addiction more than him?

However, Logan stated that he had to change his thinking.

“This thing sits at the driver's seat of someone’s life,” Logan said. “And it, you know, this isn’t them choosing something over you. And I think, for me, once I was able to get there mentally, you’re so much more likely to, like, lock arms and walk through this thing together.”

He added that when loving someone battling addiction, there is a goal that everyone must have in mind. It’s one that removes self-centered thinking from someone's battle with addiction. 

“What we truly have to hope for is that that person falls in love with Jesus, and ends up looking more like Jesus, not more like me,” Logan said. 

Again, Logan reiterates how important it is to help someone with addiction and make it about them and not us. 

“Once I was able to humble myself and like I said, realize that that the best thing I can do for someone that is drowning is to get in and swim with them, “Logan said. “Then it was no longer about me. Their recovery was not about me, and that was kind of when the switch flipped.”
