Sometimes raising teenagers can be like sending an astronaut into space. You may remember the very early space probes launched from Cape Canaveral in the 1960s that created anxiety for the safety of the astronaut. It was especially intense when the spacecraft was re-entering the earth's atmosphere.

Parents need to make a concerted effort to build bridges to their kids, starting very early to have fun as a family, laughing and talking and doing things that bond the generations together. That's the best way I know to disarm the teenage time bomb before the fuse is lit.

You know, there are those who believe so strongly in the value of positive thinking that they see nothing to be gained from that which is negative. Well, I respectfully disagree. It's the balance between the positive and the negative that provides the benefit. Let me illustrate.

Our Anniversary was on June 20th. It was our 20th Anniversary. So, for the first 19 days, I made a post on Facebook teelling my wife something I loved or admired about her each day. Day 20, I posted this video...

Isn't it strange how when we're disturbed over some family problem, we sometimes choose the most obscure or roundabout ways of saying so. I saw a good cartoon recently that showed a double bed to which the wife had nailed vertical two-by-fours to both the headboard and the footboard right in the middle. Then she'd strung barbed wire from one end to the other.

Can a rich man go to Heaven? If you put your trust in your worldly possessions, it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. God wants us to use our blessings as a tool to give, help others and to continue to build his kingdom. He does not want us to be greedy or selfish with our riches.

Jennifer Hollandzen is a true example of selfless. She loves the Lord and feels it is her obligation to give to others who are less fortunate.

The Bible says, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God… And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible,” (Mark 10:25-27).

There are two powerful forces that overtake kids in the early pubescent years and account for at least some of the strange behavior that drives parents crazy. The first is social in nature, with incredible pressures being inflicted on adolescents by the peer group.

After I had life-saving surgery I decided that I needed to establish a relationship with God, because I didn't have a satisfactory one. I wrote for 30 days while I was convalescing about all that kept me from knowing my Creator. It is some powerful, and painfully honest inspirational reading...

When my uncle Beto died it was bitter-sweet. We all knew he was dancing with in the angels and in the arms of Jesus but we also knew he would be greatly missed. He reminded us that God is good and love is unconditional. No matter what kind of mood you were in his smile and excitement that you came made you so happy.
