What Truly Defiles a Man? Unpacking Nicodemus’s Mistake in The Chosen

In Season 1 of The Chosen, the Pharisee Nicodemus makes a highly intriguing theological statement: "What goes into the body of a man defiles him." But how does this line up with the true words of Jesus Christ in the Gospels? In this biblical commentary and video breakdown, we dive deep into the scriptural context behind this scene. By looking closely at Mark 7:18, we uncover the blind spot that Nicodemus and the religious leaders of his day suffered from. While the Pharisees focused strictly on external legalism, rituals, and dietary rules, Jesus turned their entire theological world upside down by revealing that true defilement comes entirely from within a person's heart. Chance Discovery Leads to an Encounter with Alice Cooper

A chance discovery led to an encounter with Alice Cooper. The finding also proves that there are still good, honest people in the world. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear how one person came across a credit card belonging to the legendary rock musician.

Honesty is always the best policy, as the old saying goes. The only problem is that while many people are most definitely familiar with that adage, a lot do not act like it. We live in a lost and fallen world, where honesty seems to be used all too infrequently. The world is a place where people will lie, cheat and steal to get ahead, that’s for sure.

Turn on the news, and you’re bound to learn about the latest scandal in which this or that politician has been telling his constituency one thing but doing something much differently behind the scenes. That is just one of the many acts of dishonesty we regularly come across in this world. Luckily, not everyone conducts themselves as many of our elected officials do in Washington, D.C. There are still some honest people, as a powerful clip posted on YouTube proves.

The video states that one man, Geoff Guy, was camping with his family in Arizona and had stopped to fill up his tank. But while attempting to pump the gas, he made a shocking discovery. He found a credit card belonging to musician Alice Cooper still in the pump. However, instead of simply keeping the card, he reached out to one of Alice’s organizations and offered to return the card.

The video captured the meeting between Geoff and Alice.

“You know, the guy’s a legend for people of my generation, that’s for sure,” Geoff said. “And it’s, I’m really glad that I could help get it back to him.”

The video shows Alice posing for pictures with Geoff. The “No More Mr. Nice Guy” singer also hands Geoff an autographed record.

What happens when Christian families are faced with navigating the tricky cultural waters of Halloween, magic in media, and spiritual discernment?

In this episode, Jaime and Alana dive into the fascinating—and sometimes controversial—topic of navigating witchcraft in pop culture and setting spiritual boundaries within our homes. They discuss the critical difference between making fear-based decisions out of religious superstition and actively seeking God’s wisdom when deciding what entertainment and traditions are safe to engage with.

Alana highlights the historical weaponization of the word "witch" to silence women who fell outside accepted religious dogma, while emphasizing how the "nocebo" effect can cause us to experience spiritual dread simply because we expect to. Meanwhile, Jaime opens up about a candid conversation with her daughter regarding the spiritual implications of new-age healing crystals, illustrating how these moments can become invitations for deeper theological discussion rather than instant condemnation.

Along the way, they swap practical wisdom on navigating the gray areas of modern Christian culture, from evaluating fantasy series to finding peace during a traditional dance at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, offering a discerning yet grace-filled perspective on setting healthy boundaries.

Whether you are a parent trying to decide if a popular fantasy series is appropriate for your kids, struggling to balance spiritual protection with giving your children room to grow, or simply needing a reminder to trust the Holy Spirit's guidance, we hope this episode encourages you to be deeply deliberate in your choices while extending abundant grace to believers who choose differently.

Heroic Students, Step Up, Take Control of School Bus During Emergency

Prepare to be amazed by some very brave kids. Watch as heroic students, step up, take control of the school bus during an emergency.

This student's bus emergency has shocked the nation as young children on a bus take control in a dire situation. At first, you see a clip of five young teens taking action as the female bus driver appears to have passed out. One boy has the wheel, and the others are assisting. It is phenomenal to see how quickly these kids work as a team to ensure everyone's safety on the bus.

The bus driver is shown in a clip at the school library. She talks about how she had an asthma attack that created an emergency in Hancock County, Mississippi. We then see an interview with the children who saved the bus from a potentially devastating crash.

The young man who took the wheel is named Jackson Casnave. He shares how the bus was going off the side of the road when he grabbed the wheel. Darius Clark bravely hit the brakes on the bus. Kaylee Clark called 911. Destiny Cornelius helped provide medical treatment to Leah, the bus driver.

Leah shares her gratitude for these students and talks about how they saved them all. She was able to thank each of them on the day after the incident. Seeing this amazing moment of teamwork reminds us of the power and gift of community. This student's bus emergency turned into a positive story with an unlikely group of young heroes and a grateful woman who experienced their kindness.

You will be inspired by the bravery, unity, and care of these young people. God teaches us that he designed us to work together. This is a beautiful example of the church body's purpose. Everyone has a role, and we all use our gifts for the glory of Christ together.
