What remains when friendship is lost?

Even those of us with a healthy childhood have had enough exposure to negligent adults in other areas of our lives that we've kind of soured on the sanctity of family. But God is a different kind of father, and His kingdom is a different kind of family than anything we’ve ever experienced in this world. And we have an open invitation to live as His children—in this life, here on this earth.

When we don't feel good we don't feel like doing anything for anyone else. Disease and sickness become words on a big red sign that stops us in our tracks. And what better way is there for the devil to put a stop to God's work than to put a stop to God's people.

And it’s easy to begin to think that if I want a bigger piece of the pie, I’m going to have to take a bite out of somebody else’s piece. But God operates His kingdom with infinite resources.
