We are a group of Christians reaching out to the lonely men and women in prison. Most of the inmates contacting us have already accepted Jesus or they are seeking God. All of them are lonely, discouraged, and rejected; in need of a caring friend.
Jesus has a special place in His heart for hurting people and He calls us to minister to their need. In Mathew 25:35-36, Jesus says “I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” Then He explains “In as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Please also read Hebrews 13:3, Psalms 107:9-16, Isaiah 42:7, and 2Cor.5:17.
Romans 5:6-8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
A MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE ? " and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
Chris V talks about her struggle with lies about her beauty and worth as well as five points for girls struggling with lies about their beauty and worth, all from a Christian perspective.
Very much emphasis is currently placed on knowing God’s proper name. Would it be appropriate that we use this form of address with our Father? When has it ever been proper for sons and daughters to speak to their natural fathers by using their formal names? Is there any culture in which this is acceptable? Is it not considered disrespectful? As sons and daughters, even adult sons and daughters, the address most often used is Father or Dad or variations of those titles. This too, is the example of Jesus who spoke to his Father using the “name” Father, or Abba, dear Father. The beautiful “Our Father” as the beginning to the Lord’s Prayer gives the example for all time of how to address our Father. The three Scriptures which give us this unique word are: 1) Mark 14:36 -When facing the greatest trial anyone could ever face, Jesus used the term Abba Father; 2) We are advised to act as God’s own children, calling him Father, dear Father (Rom. 8:15); and 3) Gal. 4:6 points out that a change has taken place. Only since becoming His children are we able to call God our dear Father. What an astonishing privilege to be the sons and daughters of the Most High God, the Sustainer of all that is, the only uncreated Being in the universe – that He would offer us this invitation to become His true children and invite us to call Him Father. This is truly awesome! There is power in a name. There is very great power in this one!
Believers shouldn't be worried at all, Jesus promised to come back for his people, he also promised us healing from sicknesses and deliverance for mental and spiritual oppression.
I am a recent victim of some interesting and revealing encounters on various Christian forum boards. I want to assure everyone that I escaped unharmed, and am recovering nicely. But my experiences left me with some valuable insights as to the spiritual conditions of many who profess to be Christians. I hope you are not among those same spiritual vandals that are currently proving that the latter day's apostasy is upon us.
