April is Autism Awareness Month and one talented girl wanted to shed light on autism and the struggles it can bring. 13-year-old EmiSunshine became a viral senation when her impressive country vocals were heard all over the internet.
Since her rise in fame, EmiSunshine has continued to stay true to her roots and put everything she has into her music. Recently, EmiSunshine and her mother wrote a touching song called '90 Miles' to shed light on autism. When you truly listen to the lyrics, you will realize just how powerful this song really is. The words paint of picture of a normal day of a person with autism and all of the emotions and feelings that can be had.
This song truly opens your eyes to those around you and simple things that you may take for granted might be very difficult to someone else. I'm so glad that EmiSunshine recorded this song and is sharing it with the word. Amazing!
Country artists Rascal Flatts are known all over for their hit songs and down to earth personalities. They've been on the music scene for years and many of their songs have truly touched the lives of people. That's exactly the case for Brandon and Sara.
This sweet couple is getting married and when it came time to pick out their first dance song, they immediately knew it was going to be 'Bless The Broken Road' from Rascal Flatts. They explain that this special song is very much like the relationship that they share and God truly worked to bring them together. When a family friend saw that the band was performing in a nearby town, she decided to write an email asking if they would sing the song at Brandon and Sara's wedding.
Much to everyone's surprise, Rascal Flatts said yes and drove out to the wedding for the most unforgettable first dance moment. The newly married couple had no idea that this was going to happen and the look on their faces says it all. I'm so glad that these two are starting off their lives in a very special way. Wishing Brandon and Sara a lifetime of happiness!
Austin Giorgio has been impressing the judges on The Voice since his very first audition. He's come so far in the competition and now it's time for the knockout rounds. Austin decided to give his performance everything he could when he chose the Nate King Cole classic "Almost Like Being in Love."
This young man's voice sounds so good that if you close your eyes, it's almost like you're being transported back in time. What a smooth performance of this throwback song. He definitely put his heart and soul into the song and it shows all the way through. Even the judges were smiling through the entire thing.
Covering a classic song is never easy, but Austin did an amazing job. It's no surprise that this number landed him a spot in the playoff rounds. I can't wait to see what this young man does next!
What did Jesus Christ really look like? In most churches and biblical depictions, we see Jesus as a light-skinned man with brown hair that goes down to his shoulders. He also has a full beard and a mustache. But researchers are now saying that this image might not be entirely accurate.
Take a look at this interview with Dr. Tom Beaudoin of Fordham University who has done extensive research on the subject. There is even a new picture of what he thinks Jesus may have more accurately looked like. While we may never know one hundred percent, it's still fascinating to see the images.
I grew up with pictures of The Last Supper and Jesus kneeling in prayer at my church, so those are the images that I will always have in my head. What about you? What do you think Jesus may have looked like?
Tawny and Brea have been waiting over a year to hug their daddy again. Their dad, Sgt. First Class Terry Gottke, has been serving overseas in Afghanistan but now he is finally back home. When he found out when he would be arriving, he got together with his wife, Brittany, and they decided to surprise the girls in a special way.
Both Terry and Brittany are firefighters and both daughters want to be firefighters too. So, that's when the couple came up with the perfect idea to have Terry dressed in fire gear and arrive on the fire truck. Just watch the girl's faces as they realize just who's on the truck.
There is so much joy and excitement in this special moment. I definitely think the girls are surprised, but in the best way possible. I'm so glad that they have their daddy back home! Thank you for your service, Sgt. Gottke.
I heard it said that there is strength in numbers. However I believe there is strength in unity. I desire to see 7 people in unity helping others rather than 500 who are in strife and discord. Therefore it would be ideal to have numbers in unity! Would you agree? James 3:16 “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” Consider the following portions from the Bible!
Ephesians 4:16 “Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly, and each part in its own special way helps the other parts, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”
Retired bus driver Sue Ann Cornwell and Miriam Finch were strangers when they both attended a country concert in Las Vegas last October. During the concert, a shooting broke out that left 58 people dead and hundreds more injured.
Miriam was seven months pregnant at the time and had moved closer to the stage when Jason Aldean came on. Sue Ann took notice of the woman and when the shots began to ring out, she immediately jumped to protect this momma-to-be. She used her own body to shield Miriam and eventually, helped her escape through a fence along with other survivors. Miriam was so grateful for Sue Ann, but in the aftermath of the chaos, she could not find her.
Months went by and Miriam did not even know her hero's name. That's when she came across a picture in a Facebook group that she thought was Sue Ann. She reached out and the two reconnected. Now, Miriam's baby boy is a healthy infant and these two are forever connected by Sue Ann's amazing kindness. God bless people like Sue Ann!
This bride thought that her wedding ceremony was over, but her groom had a special surprise up his sleeve. Before the wedding, the groom had gathered a group of friends and family together to help serenade his new wife during the wedding. Just watch as they turn to face the crowd and he starts to belt out the beautiful words of 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight.'
Then, one by one, members in the pew walk up to the altar and add their voices to this amazing surprise. It's obvious that this new bride is overwhelmed with joy and happiness. She is all smiles as she watches her friends and family join in on this serenade. Then, this talented groom takes her by the hand and they start to walk down the aisle, all while the singing continues.
I think he definitely pulled off the ultimate surprise and this is a special moment that they will cherish for a lifetime. Wishing this happy couple lots of love and joy as they start their married life together!
These two child aerial acrobats took everyone's breath away with their amazing performance. Recently, this adorable pair visited Steve Harvey on Little Big Shots. They decided to show off some of their aerial skills and it was absolutely amazing.
It's hard to believe that a child can possess so much ability but that's exactly what happened in this clip. Just watch as the two children perform a very difficult acrobatic routine. They were so fearless and performed to perfection. You can tell that they practiced a lot and really love what they are doing. They are definitely some of the most talented children I have ever seen. And I am sure the people who were watching them felt the same way.
Everyone in the crowd was already filled with so much anticipation, but when the two children began their routine, the audience was really stunned! Just look how strong these two are and how easy it was for them to lift themselves into the ropes. They really made their performance look natural and so effortless. I was certainly impressed by their amazing skill and incredible strength. What about you?
When the Lord calls our name, we will be there ready and waiting to receive. Let God guide you each and every day as you walk through this world. When you hand and your fears over to the Lord and rest your worries on His shoulders, a burden will truly be lifted.
That's exactly what the lyrics of 'Lead Me To The Cross' from Hillsong UNITED will remind you of. Today, this powerful song is being performed by cousins Aldrich and James and it's absolutely incredible to hear.
I just love how this duo has such a heart and passion for the Lord and they aren't afraid to let anyone know it. It's such a blessing to hear the younger generation worship His name. This is exactly what my heart needed to hear today. Who else is in awe of this beautiful performance?
This poor Pitbull was abandoned and left in the basement of a home. No one even knew she was there until someone purchased the house. A woman had just bought a new home when she noticed something very strange in the basement. There was a Pitbull chained downstairs, so she immediately called a rescue team to come and help.
They had no idea how long the dog has been there, but you can tell that she was so happy to see someone. Her little tail started to wag as soon as the rescue team walked down the stairs to free her. The basement she was living was so filthy. There were trash and waste everywhere. Despite the horrific conditions, this dog was just as sweet as could be. She immediately trusted her rescuers and could not wait to be free. The team named her “Jumping Bean” and the name suited her very well.
I'm so glad that this sweet pup is now getting the love and attention that she truly deserves. I can't believe any dog owner would do this, but I sure am glad that Jumping Bean is well on her way to a life of freedom.
There's something so special about watching the younger generation give praise to His name. And when they incorporate dance and movement, it's absolutely incredible to witness.
Today, the talented group Movement in Christ is putting their worship to dance as they perform a beautiful number to Michael W. Smith's classic 'Above All.' When you truly listen to the words of this song, it will fill you with love for our Lord and Saviour. And once the dance is added into the mix, it makes this song that much more powerful.
From the start to the finish, you can tell that these men and women have a real heart for the Lord. I love how they are expressing it in the most beautiful way. This group is such a great example for our youth and this worship song was the perfect compliment to their dance. Who else is in awe of this worship?
Little Percy is a 16-week-old young pekingese puppy. Even though he may be young, Percy is already learning about life on the farm with the help from 2 Kelpie dogs that already lived on the farm. After watching these older dogs for a bit, Percy decided that he was ready to give sheep-herding a go and you've got to see this tiny guy shine.
Just watch as this adorable little guy tries to run around the yard and assert his authority with the sheep. I think Percy has a ways to go before he will be an official sheepdog, but in the meantime, it sure is fun to watch him try so hard. Just look at that ball of fur running all around trying to 'bark' at the sheep.
We've definitely got to work on the whole acting tough bit. What do you think of little Percy's sheep-herding skills? I'm laughing at how cute he looks trying!
Trooper Mark Gilberg has been working with the Arizona Department of Public Safety for 37 years. Trooper Gilberg truly put his heart and soul into the job and when it came time to retire, he knew it would be an emotional moment. Just watch as he finishes his final shift and makes his final call in to dispatch.
This is alway a special moment for any officer and it was no different for Trooper Gilberg. He called in to make his final radio call and has to wipe away the tears as the weight of his retirement truly hits him. I'm sure this officer will truly be missed and he meant a great deal to the department.
It's never easy to see a co-worker move on, but Trooper Gilberg can rest easy knowing that he did a job well done. We all thank you for your service over the years and hope you enjoy your retirement. You've definitely earned it!
There's truly nothing better than hearing beautiful voices lift up our Lord's name in worship. And that's exactly what happened at recent concert on Good Friday. Just watch as Christian artists Chris Tomlin and Tauren Wells are joined on stage by the popular country group Rascal Flatts.
Together, these amazing voices start to sing the classic hymn 'How Great Thou Art.' This traditional hymn has such power and meaning when you truly listen to the lyrics. There is no one like our Lord and He has truly given us so many blessings in our lives.
It's amazing to hear all of these talented voices come together for His glory. This is just what my heart needed to hear today. Who else wants to hear more worship like this?
The Singing Contractors are a talented duo comprised of two actual contractors. While they are working on job sites, they like to take a little break and sing to the Lord. They always choose the most beautiful hymns to honor His name and today is no different.
Just listen as these gifted men belt out the classic hymn 'Will The Circle Be Unbroken.' I always love hearing this hymn but their a cappella performance is nothing like I've ever heard before. These men definitely have a God-given talent for singing and I'm so glad that they're using that gift to give praise to His name.
I just love the passion that they have for God and they aren't afraid for the world to know it. Such an amazing worship performance from these 2 incredible men. Who else wants to hear more from The Singing Contractors?
The former president, Jimmy Carter shares about his life and his faith in this incredible interview. He was diagnosed with cancer and thought that he was going to die. He thought he only had just a few days to live.
The former President somehow made peace with the fact that it may be his final days and said his goodbyes. He was able to reflect on his life and all he did for the world. Jimmy Carter was ready to die. But, against all odds, he survived the cancer after a new treatment and he is still here now.
Today, he is sharing stories about his reflections and how he journeys through his life of faith. In fact, his faith is probably why he was so at peace with dying. He had led a life full of serving and even in his presidency, he was satisfied with how he led America. So much went on while he was a President, and his faith was stretched to full capacity. But he always managed to stayed persistent in his faith.
And looking back at the person he was, he is so content with the legacy that he will leave. He describes himself as a champion of peace and human rights, as well as a productive and useful individual. What an incredible life he has truly led!
Over the Christmas break, we got together to learn something new. This arrangement by Kevin was perfect for our old stairwell acoustics. The melody is from Holst's "Jupiter" and features Catherine on melody, with Rachel singing a descant towards the end. We have a few more new songs which we will post periodically. Thank you all for your continued support and kind comments!
