Nelly was a lovely little girl, with beautiful dark brown locks. She was a charming little five-year-old girl, always laughing and singing. She specially loved jewellery. One day, Nelly was shopping with her mother and saw a beautiful necklace. It was a plastic, pink pearl necklace placed inside a little metal box. Just what a girl her age would love! “Oh please, Mummy, please, please, can you buy it for me? Please?” Nelly asked as she looked at her mother with begging eyes. Her mother turned the box over and saw the price, and then she looked at her little girl. She looked so sweet. Her mother, suppressing a smile said, “The necklace is almost £15. If you really want it, why don’t you help me at home and in no time you will have enough money to buy them yourself. Your birthday is in one week and Granny will certainly give you some money as well. This way, you will also understand the value of money and having to work hard for it.”
Hello pastor, I really enjoy listening to you on the website Enseigne-moi.com. I was born again in 2006 after having gone through a divorce and a deep depression. At the time, I just wanted to die. I then met a Christian, decided to follow a bible course and at last got baptized after 6 years of doubt. I must say, I am quite Cartesian in nature and my life has not been an easy ride but rather a rough one where I have had to hold on, so as not to let myself drown. I had hoped that my life would get better once I had become a Christian and that God would change my life. It has now been 6 years. Today I find myself still alone without a husband, living in a small apartment, driving a small car without a job and only some state aid as income. I still love God and his Word but quite honestly, I have given up. The weight has dried up the life in my bones and my faith is very low despite praying, begging, waiting, hoping, it has been nothing but desert. In december 1943 I found myself in a concentration camp for 9 months. I was terrifyingly thin, and my body was covered in sores. On christmas eve, the camp commander sent for me. When I arrived, i found him seated at a table before a sumptuous dinner. He made me watch during his whole meal and continuously tormented me for being a christian and because I preached the gospel to my companions in chains. At the end, coffee and cakes were brought out.
