The Daily Pulse (Sunday, June 24, 2012): What can man do to me?

Daily Pulse - Psalm 56:10-11 In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise—in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

David Meece - My Father's Chair

An achingly beautiful song, written by David Meece and Dwight Liles. I hope I interpreted it correctly. The first verse seems to have to do with a workaholic dad who was absent a lot of the time. I think the second verse is about the same little boy from the first verse, now a father himself. Of course, the last verse is about the throne of God, the most loving chair of all.

Jaime Jamgochian - Everything You Are

I heard this song on the sampler CD that I get with Worship Leader magazine (SongDiscovery). It blew me away. Not a real deep message: "God is good"; yeah, we know that. But the message is expressed very well and makes us remember how good He is. The song is centered around two key Bible verses. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has good plans for us, to give us a hope and a future. And Romans 8:28 tells us that he uses everything for good, even the bad stuff in our lives.

Jaime co-wrote the song along with a close friend, Hope Darst, who challenged her after Jaime was a little bit disappointed in God's response to some of her prayers. A wonderful song. Thank you Jaime and Hope.

Paul Baloche - What Can I Do

From Paul Baloche's album "A Greater Song", an album he recorded live at his home church. This is a straightforward and unabashed song of praise and thanks. He co-wrote the song along with Graham Kendrick.
